At Preserve, we truly strive for giving you all the information possible. Letting YOU choose what works best, and just sprinkling in some guidance. If you’ve ever really looked at the bud bar or the front of our jars, we have a plethora of info. Including the grower, lineage,  total spectrum, THC, terpenes, effects, but mainly, the next HIGHEST cannabinoid after THC. Look a little closer next time at what strains have which minor cannabinoid that could help you!!

They’re in small quantities but pack a punch. Minor cannabinoids are something to consider when trying to find the strain that matches your desired outcome. THC & CBD have been the sought after 2, but with more studies coming out, I’ll be curious to see if breeders & growers will try to mix in or bred specifically for “minors”.

These are the 4 top, minor cannabinoids of the 113 discovered!!

CBG
(Cannabigerol)
CBG is how it all starts. CBG is the precursor to THC, CBD & CBC! Specific enzymes in the plant break CBGA down and “direct” it toward one of the three lines. The acids are exposed to ultraviolet light or heat, and voila, they become the cannabinoids we know. It has been shown to slow bacterial growth, promote bone growth, help with insomnia, and it has anti-tumor growth properties.

CBN
(Cannabinol)
It has been shown to be a great insomnia reliever. Proven to be half as powerful as valium for a sleep aid. It also helps with pain relief, the promotion of bone growth, an effective appetite stimulant, and even anticonvulsant properties! THC degrades and turns into CBN when exposed to elements like heat, air, and light over time.

CBC
(Cannabichromene)
It has been shown to relieve pain, to have antiepileptic properties, to reduce inflammation, to promote bone growth, and to have has anti-tumor growth properties. CBC can activate cannabinoid receptors, indirectly, by enhancing the receptor activity of naturally-occurring cannabinoids.

THCv
Another psychoactive cannabinoid, THCv has been shown to be an appetite suppressant and an effective stimulator of bone growth; it also may reduce panic attacks, and may help with Alzheimer’s. THCV is most abundant in Sativas, particularly landrace strains from Africa. Durban Poison is one of the more common high-THCV strains.

As always, when more information is released, we’ll be here to share it with you.
